Day in the Life
Get a closer look at what each day of your November LSF adventure has in store.
-
Arrive in La Paz and settle into your accommodation. In the evening, the LSF team hosts a welcome briefing and trip overview to get you oriented for the days ahead.
As the sun sets, we take a coastal walk or relax on the beach before gathering for a welcome dinner featuring fresh Baja flavors.
Optional add-ons include an evening kayak or a guided cultural walking tour.
-
The day begins with an early breakfast and boat departure. Our first experience is swimming with whale sharks in the Bay of La Paz, a seasonal highlight guided under local regulations.
Back on board, the LSF team leads a marine biology briefing and Q&A before we head to shore for a picnic lunch and some beach downtime. A conservation discussion follows, focused on whale shark protection and responsible tourism.
In the afternoon we make our way to Balandra Bay. With its turquoise water and iconic Mushroom Rock, it is the perfect spot to float, snack, and reset. Lunch includes fresh ceviche, fruit, and other light beach snacks.
On the return, we stop for a bonus reef snorkel before heading back to shore, rinsing off, and catching the shuttle to La Paz. The evening is free to enjoy as you like, whether that means trying street food along the Malecón, watching the sunset, or simply relaxing.
-
We shuttle out to Isla Espíritu Santo, a UNESCO biosphere reserve, where we meet the crew and cruise along the island’s copper cliffs and sea caves. Dolphins often ride the bow as we make our way to the first stop to snorkel with a playful sea lion colony.
We anchor at Los Islotes, home to one of the region’s largest colonies. Curious pups dart around your fins, bark from the rocks, and often come right up to check you out, making this a highlight of the trip.
Lunch is served onboard, either between swims or while anchored nearby. In the afternoon, we explore a nearby reef for another snorkel and then stretch our legs on a short 2 km hike with sweeping views of Baja’s rugged coastline.
By late afternoon we return to the shuttle, arriving in La Paz around 6 PM. The evening is yours to relax or wander town at your own pace.
-
The day begins with a shuttle pick-up from our accommodation in La Paz and a drive to La Ventana. From here we set out on a boat safari into the deeper waters of the Sea of Cortez, scanning for sperm whales, dolphins, mobula rays, and other seasonal wildlife.
Our destination is La Reina, a remote reef off Isla Cerralvo known for its lively currents and thriving marine ecosystem. Here we snorkel among swirling schools of snapper, rays gliding along the sand, and vibrant coral heads in clear blue water.
A beachside picnic follows, with time to swim, explore, or simply take in the view. On the way back we reflect on the expedition and share conservation takeaways with the LSF team.
By late afternoon we return to La Paz to rinse off and relax. The trip closes with an optional group dinner at a local restaurant, the perfect spot to enjoy one last Baja sunset together.
