It’s 2017,
the water was calm, and then a shadow emerged…

Instant excitement overwhelmed the crew…

We had spotted a juvenile whale shark, maybe around 20 feet long. The moment it passed by us, calm and massive and completely unbothered, it felt like time froze. We kept a respectful distance and just watched in awe. Back on the boat, we couldn’t stop talking about it. The rush from seeing something that wild, that close, stayed with us. That kind of encounter makes you want to share it, to remind people how incredible the ocean really is.

Following that unforgettable encounter in 2017, LSF Expeditions was born.

We all shared a passion for marine conservation and a goal to help people connect with the natural world, we decided to pursue eco-tourism. With a team of researchers, educators, and adventure lovers, we set out to create experiences that not only showcase the beauty of our planet's oceans but also help people better understand the ecosystems that make it all possible.

    Bryce Gunning

    FOUNDER & CEO

    Bryce Gunning is the founder and CEO of LSF Expeditions. A marine biologist with a deep love for the ocean, Bryce has spent his career helping others experience the underwater world and understand why it matters. Through LSF Expeditions, he aims to create meaningful adventures that build a stronger connection to nature and spark lasting interest in marine conservation. Under his leadership, LSF has grown into a trusted name in sustainable travel, offering experiences that leave a lasting impact on both guests and the environment.

    Guri Sejzer

    CHIEF SAFETY OFFICER

    Guri, our Chief Safety Officer, is a seasoned professional dedicated to safeguarding our expeditions. With a rich background in ocean safety, including roles as a lifeguard, rescue diver, and CPR/AED instructor, Guri ensures the safety of our adventurers with meticulous care. His passion for the ocean,drives his commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone on our expeditions.

    Shannon Toogood

    MARKETING & PARTNERSHIPS DIRECTOR

    Shannon Toogood grew up on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, where her love for the ocean started early.

    Shannon oversees everything from trip promotions and social media to partnerships and email campaigns. She helps shape how we tell our story, connect with schools and travelers, and grow a community that cares about the ocean. Her goal is simple: to inspire more people to explore, respect, and protect the marine world.

    MEDIA COORDINATOR

    EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

    Selena brings a love for adventure and a strong background in tourism to the LSF Expeditions team. With a Bachelor's degree in Tourism and fluency in several languages, she helps keep our trips running smoothly from start to finish. Whether she's hiking remote trails or paddling the Pacific in a kayak, Selena is always exploring. Her calm presence, attention to detail, and global perspective make her an essential part of the crew and a steady hand on every expedition.
